Martin Weiss Library Project Plan

Purpose

Through modification of the Martin Weiss Elementary Library, this project plan will present a new refined look to the library and add technology resources, such as a new Audio/Video Morning Announcement setup, which is student-friendly, more supportive to creative activity, and supports campus & community technology involvement.

-       Equipment will be purchased from the campus budget.
-       The modification plan may change as new ideas and complications rise.

Constraints

The following are possible constraints:
-       The amount of money needed to purchase equipment might not be approved.
-       All equipment may not be in by the due date for project.
-       Additional materials may be needed before the conclusion of the project.

      - Now the librarian can view a wider range of the library from her desk. Blind spots are minimized due to the new position of the book shelves.
-
2.) Change a sitting area of the library into an audio/video set for video announcements, creative projects, and informative use.
      - School will be avle to video record and produce morning announcments to broadcast school news, events, and activities.

3.) Rearranging the shelves and tables now opens up the library space for better meeting space.
- Meetings seems separated when all staff was present inside of the library because of the prior location of the book shelves.

4.) Moving the big green rug into the middle of the room allows the students to have a better view of the projector screen.

Design and Technology

It is important to have correct design to the space where learning occurs. The design can create a calm feeling to those that utilize the particular space or it can affect the learning in a negastive way. Proper space is necessary for increased learning. When it comes to technology used, teachers are taking full advantage of the various apps and tools available.

This was a design I had to create in one of the last LIS courses I took SPRING 2018. We had to redseign our current library space to impact higher learnig and better flow through out the library space .

Learner-Centered

In a learner-centered environment, the student is fully responsioble for their own learning. This occurs thriugh evaluations, research, surveying, and many other ways to gain knowledge and information to solve a real world issue. The teacher is mainly a facilitator, not the lecturer. The students may work in groups or individually to complete the assigned project in a timely manner.
When I was employee with the A. Maceo Smith NEw Tech High School in Dallas Texas, we had the opportunity to be fully trained a PBL insturctors that allows us to receive vital information to allow the student to be and remain successful.
